What Types of Diffusers do your Profiles use?

Modified on Fri, 2 Jun, 2023 at 3:56 PM

Our profiles come packaged with either PC (Polycarbonate) or PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) diffusers. PMMA is the more exciting of the two: a transparent and rigid thermoplastic material, also known as acrylic, acrylic glass and plexiglass. PMMA is widely used in the production of lenses, diffusers and light guides within the lighting industry because of its high light transmittance properties.

It's to this end that our profiles may seem more expensive than other types on the market. The reality is that PMMA is expensive to implement but the results far outclass the likes of PC or cheaper alternatives which don't even use PC, which can be hazard-prone if you are not careful about what you are buying.

For special projects, we can even offer Honeycomb Printed Diffusers, which apply a grid in front of the diffuser in order to trap the peripheral light in all directions and limit glare. Please email for more information.
