Understanding the colour codes of Hi-Line Lighting LED strips is essential for correctly connecting them to a controller. Here's how:
Single Colour LED Strips: These strips have two connection terminals. The plus (+) terminal is typically represented by a red wire and the minus (-) terminal by a black wire. Connect the red wire to the positive terminal on your controller, and the black wire to the negative terminal.
Tunable White LED Strips: These strips have three connection terminals. The common anode (+) is typically represented by a grey wire, the cool white channel by a white wire (-), and the warm white channel by a yellow wire (-). Connect the grey wire to the positive terminal on your controller, and the white and yellow wires to the respective negative terminals for cool and warm white channels on your controller.
RGB Strips: These strips have four connection terminals. The common anode (+) is usually the black wire, the red channel is denoted by a red wire (-), the green channel by a green wire (-), and the blue channel by a blue wire (-). Connect the black wire to the positive terminal on your controller, and the red, green, and blue wires to their respective terminals on your controller.
RGBW Strips: These strips have five connection terminals. Along with the common anode (black wire +) and the red, green, and blue channels, there's an additional white channel, usually represented by a white wire (-). Connect the black wire to the positive terminal on your controller, and the red, green, blue, and white wires to their respective terminals on the controller.
Please always ensure you are connecting the wires to the correct terminals as per your controller's instructions to avoid potential damage. For RGB and RGBW controllers, the terminals are typically labelled with the respective colours for easier identification.
